Calvary Homes’ Festival of Caring Benefit Auction
Calvary Fellowship Homes– now celebrating its 50th Anniversary–will hold its annual Festival of Caring benefit auction and chicken barbecue on Saturday, March 23. Located at 502 Elizabeth Drive, Lancaster. Calvary Homes is a Christ-centered, non-profit continuing care retirement community. The indoor auction, to be held in Nissley Fellowship Hall from 9 a.m. – 2 p.m., will feature handmade quilts and wall hangings, antiques, collectibles, furniture, artwork, books, lamps, china, jewelry, and other items including four one-day passes to Disney World in Orlando, FL. The items may be previewed on Friday evening, March 22, from 5:30 – 7 p.m., and on Saturday morning from 7:30 – 9 a.m. Auctioneers are Robert E. Martin & Sons, Leola.
Bidding for over 100 silent auction items–including theme baskets, gift certificates, vendor donations and surprise dinners–will begin during the Friday preview and continue until Saturday at 12:30 p.m. The winning bids will be announced at 1:30 p.m. The festival also will feature a take-out chicken barbecue by Peter’s Barbecue, Manheim. The barbecue will be held from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. or until the chicken is sold out. Advance purchase of tickets is recommended. Call (717) 393-0711 for information.
