Topic: In God We Trust: Christ, Creation, and the Declaration of Independence

Mr. Frank DeFreitas will answer the question “what were our founding fathers’
thoughts on our Creator and Creation?” through their own words … from
research he did in the national archives, including pieces from his Wonders of
the Bible collection showing the history of the Holy Bible in America.
He will show actual Bible leaves from:
• First Bible printed in America (The Eliot Bible
language now extinct!)
• The Robert Aitken Bible (Bible endorsed by Congress)
• The first American Bible printed by a woman and translated by a woman
• The American revolutionary war “gun wad” Bible
• Braille Bible, Cherokee Bible and more, including select pieces regarding the
Declaration of Independence:
o World’s smallest DOI (look through a microscope to see it)
o Smallest printed DOI
o Famous Corn Driscoll Dunlap Broadside facsimile
This material is the same as one would get at any museum display(s), so it
should be a great educational opportunity for students as well as adults.
