Laughter is Sacred Space
September 13, 2013 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm| Free
A seminary student turned actor, Ted Swartz teamed with Lee Eshelman in 1987 to write and perform comedy pieces for a youth leaders retreat. The team continued to create together until Eshelman took his own life in 2007. Swartz’s multi-media one-man play, Laughter is Sacred Space, explores the paradox of working with a comedic partner struggling with bipolar disorder, and the challenge of writing and performing stories about God while experiencing the absence of God after Eshelman’s death. The event is Free and being held in the Garden Spot Village Chapel in New Holland. Donations will be welcome. 717-355-6000. gardenspotvillage.org
