Meet the Churches: Moravian Church

Rev. Dean R. Jurgen and historian Dale Shelley, of Lititz Moravian Church, will talk about Moravian history and beliefs and early life in Lititz as part of the Meet the Churches lecture/discussion series sponsored by Garden Spot Village and Lancaster Mennonite Historical Society on July 22nd from 7-8PM at Garden Spot Village Chapel in New Holland. This summer’s theme is “Early Churches in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.” One of the few pre-Reformation Protestant churches, the Moravian Church has its roots in 15th-century Czechoslovakia. The Lititz Moravian Congregation was organized in 1749, and the current church was built in 1878. Free and open to the public. 717-355-6203.
