Saturday Cinema Observes United Nations Day
The history of the United Nations will be presented at Saturday Cinema on Saturday October 19th. “Broken Promises: The UN at 60” highlights the gap between the good intentions and ideals of its inception and the sad reality of its present state of inefficiency and corruption. The 65 minute expose by Citizens United will screen at 8:00, 10:30 and 1:00.
A second feature “Demographic Bomb” uncovers how the UN and other organizations are involved in population control programs targeting the poor and violating human rights. It also shows what happens to the economies of wealthy nations when declining birth rates result in a reduced work force, fewer innovators, falling consumer spending and not enough young people to support the old. The 70 minute documentary is a rebuttal of Paul Ehrlich’s 1970’s best-seller The Population Bomb and will show at 9:15, 11:45 and 2:15.
Saturday Cinema is a free admission educational theater located inside the West Annex of Saturday’s Market near Middletown, Pa. Directions are easy. Take the Toll House Road Exit off Rt 283 and follow the signs. For additional information follow us on Facebook. 7173295228
