On Fire – Youth Rally
On Fire is a youth rally that takes the gifts that God has blessed us with, and uses them to glorify him on May 19th at 7PM at York Christian Church. Join us in celebrating God’s great love through music, dance, and worship. There will be a skit, dances, a worship band, and a message. Our band will play songs by Switchfoot, The City Harmonic, Gateway Worship, and more. The band is amazing, the message is powerful, and we are all on fire for God. Civil War Veteran’s Recognition
A two-part ‘Memorial Day’ program will be held Sunday afternoon, May 19, at historic Boehm’s Chapel to acknowledge the Civil War veterans buried in the adjoining cemetery. The program will begin at 3:00 p.m. inside the chapel with “Flames Across the Susquehanna”, a video-lecture by local author, Glenn Banner. Following a question and answer session with Banner, the program will resume in the cemetery with a roll call of the Civil War veterans and placing of flags.
Descendants of Boehm’s Civil War veterans are invited to attend and place flags on their ancestor’s grave. Flags will be provided. A love offering will be received to benefit the Columbia Historic Preservation Society.
York Habitat (Building On Faith 2013) Hymn Sing/Groundbreaking
York Habitat For Humanity is asking the faith community of the York area to come together on Sunday May 19th, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church at 700 East Market Street for a 3:00 pm Hymn Sing prior to the 4:30 Groundbreaking Celebration. Many local churches are expected to help with the financing and the building of the duplex home in the 400 block of South Albemarle St. St. Mark’s has covenanted with the Building On Faith 2013 project at a full sponsor of one of the two homes and is setting a challenge for fundraising for the second home as well. All are invited to the Hymn Sing and Groundbreaking events.

Children of the World Choir coming to Linville Hill School, 295 S.
