New Tunes at 9 Roundup: TobyMac-Dubbed and Freq’d (A Remix Project)

April 26th, 2012

Radio Friend Phil – Greetings! It’s time for this week’s New Tunes at 9 Roundup: New Tunes at 9, one-hour of new and emerging music, weeknights at 9 p.m. on WJTL.  New projects available now: Steven Curtis Chapman, “No. 1’s Vol.1,” the compilation “Passion: White Flag,” and Toby Mac, “Dubbed and Freq’d: A Remix Project.” “Dubbed and Freq’d” is another magnificent remix project from TobyMac, and the latest in a long line of projects that delightfully blur musical boundaries. Toby, whose real name is Toby McKeehan, rose to prominence as one-third of the seminal group, DC Talk. Toby’s singular vision is creating art that expresses his love for Christ. He says, “I’ve been doing this for a while; as long as you are still discovering new things, creating new things and climbing new mountains, it will always be fresh.” “Dubbed and Freq’d: A Remix Project” is another musical stew effortlessly combining elements of rock, funk, soul, Latin, reggae, pop and gospel. And as always, executed flawlessly by the members of the Diverse City Band. You can connect with TobyMac at http://www.tobymac.com/: you’ll find links to facebook, twitter and youtube. (TobyMac is currently working on a new project, set to release August 28th.)
