If you’re a youth worker (pastor, staffer, volunteer), we have a special contest this week just for you! Listen all day long Monday – Friday (April 21-25th) for your chance to attend a special Zip Line Canopy Tour Preview–just for youth workers–at Refreshing Mountain Retreat & Adventure Center in Northern Lancaster County. The canopy tour features 7 zip lines spanning over 3,500 feet, along with 3 sky bridges. The special preview event for youth workers is happening on Thursday, May 1st from 1-3 p.m.

We’re on the lookout for talented WJTL listeners–we know you’re out there! We want to see and hear your talents. The WJTL Talent Challenge is wide open to any skill that has the potential to impress, entertain or amuse our crowd at Sertoma–that means musicians and more! Individual performers and groups may enter. 10 contestants will be chosen to perform their talent on the Weaver’s Garage Stage (a stage we set up; not Long’s Park Ampitheater) at the 61st annual Sertoma Chicken BBQ in Long’s Park in Lancaster on Saturday, May 17th (in the afternoon). Then, the audience gets to vote on their favorite performer–and we’ll award Visa Gift Cards to the Top 3! $500 for 1st place, $250 for 2nd place and $100 for 3rd place.

Email your .mp3, movie file or You Tube link to Contest@WJTL.com or mail your CD or DVD to WJTL, ATTEN: Talent Challenge, 1875 Junction Road, Manheim, PA 17545. (Drop-offs must be during office hours: 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. weekedays.) Include a paragraph telling us about yourself and your talent when you enter and include your contact information in your entry. Contest entry material (including CDs, DVDs, photos, etc.) will not be returned. There are no age restrictions, but kids under 18 must include parents’ permission with entry.
The deadline to enter is midnight on Tuesday, May 06, 2014. We’ll announce the 10 contestants on the air during the 5:00 p.m. hour on Friday, May 9, 2014. (Contestants will also be contacted directly by WJTL.)

The Junction Center Tent is going up here on the property and we’re getting ready for a great lineup of concerts and events from now until the weather starts cooling off again. The Junction Center Tent is a unique venue for all the great entertainment we have planned: it’s outdoors, it’s heated and it’s all-weather, so the show can go on rain or shine.
