Ways to Reach Out to Lisa During Her Illness

August 20th, 2013

As many of you know, Lisa Landis was hospitalized on June 26th with a serious bacterial infection.  Many of you have expressed interest in leaving a message for Lisa. This page would be a great way to do that. Simply leave your reply to this message and we will pass your well-wishes along to Lisa and her family.

Some listeners and organizations have also asked about organizing a Get Well card shower for Lisa.  If your church or organization or family is interested in doing that you can send your cards to WJTL, 1875 Junction Road, Manheim, PA 17545 Attn: Lisa Landis, and we will pass them along to Lisa and her family as well.

Additionally, many have been asking about ways to help Lisa during her lengthy illness and Hospital Stay. If you would like to help with Lisa’s Medical & Rehabilitation Expenses, a special fund has been set up.  Please send your gift to…

FULTON BANK: MCGOVERN AVENUE
20 MCGOVERN AVE.
LANCASTER, PA 17602

Please Indicate on your check that this is for the
LISA LANDIS BLOWERS FUND

or call or visit the FULTON BANK branch nearest you.

Thank You!

    Lisa,
I have been living away from the WJTL listening area for nearly 12 years– although I’m sure to tune in when I’m back in the area– as soon as I saw a Facebook message about your illness, I heard your voice in my head. You make the Kids’ Cookie Break what it is! I am praying for you and your family. May God’s peace fill you and His healing hand heal you.

    Praying for you,
    Andrea G.

    Lisa,

You have many people praying for you, but I wanted you to know that you can beat this. My neighbor went through this and was in great peril, but here she is years later herding her children and their children, and she is a great blessing to so many people – one tough cookie- there are so many who need her and you! I was at UPENN for many years and they certainly have an immense depth of technical skill to deal with this on the medical level. Between that and the love and faith of so many, you will prevail. Wishing you strength and healing.

Lisa, I loved the time you performed the underwear song at Creation with Slugs n Bugs where you had to hide the bunny from him. Then later at the Kids Grove a little girl accused you of being mean for hiding it. Hope you are better soon!

Lisa, may God provide your body the strength and the healing power to overcome this infection. Stay strong, and cherish in the love of Jesus, despite the pain and challenges ahead, as there’s nothing more comforting than knowing that God is with you and has brought this community together. We are praying for you and we miss hearing your voice. You have had a positive impact on so many of us, including myself while sharing the word of Jesus. My continued prayers for your full recovery and I look forward to the day of your return.

    Lisa,

We are praying for your speedy recovery. You are such an amazing person and we look forward to seeing your smiling face every year at Earth Day. I know you have strong faith that will help you through this time.

Dan was just telling me about how he was in Lancaster City a few weeks ago and you came running out of the ice cream store after him for a few blocks to say hello to him. Your spirit and vitality is amazing and contagious. You have a true gift in connecting with people. We just think you are such a special person and are so thankful for all that you have done for us.

We are all thinking of you and will keep checking in to see how you were doing.

    Lisa,

During a very tragic time in our own lives, we called WJTL and if I recall correctly you were the one who accepted our song request – even though it wasn’t request hour – and played “Hold Me Jesus” by Rich Mullins. I have many fond memories of the various places and moments when our paths have crossed – especially the days of “The Hidden Treasure” on KCB. You have been a good friend to me, and my family. We are praying that as Jesus has been King of your glory, that he will also be your Prince of peace.

May God surround and comfort Lisa and her family. May He give the doctors wisdom and skill to heal her body. May He touch her heart so that through Him, she will continue in good spirits and faith.

So we retire, move to Lancaster from New York, subscribe to the paper, and whoa – there you are on the front page! It’s been a long time since WNBC, lady. We want to hear all about the intervening years, but you have to get better first. As to that, there is no doubt in our minds that you will get better; yours is not the sort of persona that allows trials and tribulations to stand in the way for very long. All of our best wishes go with you.

I am taking care of you. Trust Me at all times. Trust Me in all circumstances. Trust Me with all your heart. When you are weary and everything seems to be going wrong, you can still utter these four words: “I trust You, Jesus.” By doing so, you release matters into My control, and you fall back into the security of My everlasting arms.
Before you arise from your bed in the morning, I have already arranged the events of your day. Every day provides many opportunities for you to learn My ways and grow closer to Me. Signs of My Presence brighten even the dullest day when you have eyes that really see. Search for Me as for hidden treasure. I will be found by you.

We know you have a long journey here and we’ll continue to pray for your body to heal and strength. And we can’t wait for you to be resting at home so we can bless you with a meal or take out from one of your favorite spots. You are such an awesome friend and a blessing to our family!
