New Tunes at 9 Roundup

December 14th, 2011

Radio Friend Phil – New Tunes at 9 airs weeknights, 9-10 p.m. on WJTL. Some of the new Christmas projects we featured this week on New Tunes at 9: “Christmas in Diverse City” by TobyMac and “The Heart of Christmas,” by Matthew West. You may recall that last year, Matthew West released a very tender song called, “One Last Christmas,” a song whose story was based around the Locke family in Illinois, whose son, Dax, was suffering from a rare form of Leukemia. Dax’s favorite holiday was Christmas, so his parents decided to put up all their Christmas decorations early. Soon after, the neighbors and eventually the entire town did the same thing to honor Dax’s final Christmas. If you go to http://www.matthewwest.com/, you’ll find more details on this touching story. Also at matthewwest.com, you can view the trailer for the movie “The Heart of Christmas,” read Matthew’s blog, and learn about the book, “The Story Of Your Life (Inspiring Stories Of God At Work In People Just Like You).” The book is a companion to the record of the same name; both projects feature stories of faith, courage and struggle, as submitted by his fans worldwide. And before I forget, don’t miss the ‘Come To The Well’ tour, with Casting Crowns and Matthew West, in Hershey, on Friday, March 30. Tickets at 717-459-7301 or CMILive.com.
