New Tunes at 9 Roundup: Andrew Peterson

August 9th, 2012

Radio Friend Phil – Greetings! It’s time for this week’s New Tunes at 9 Roundup: New Tunes at 9, one-hour of new and emerging music, weeknights at 9 p.m. on WJTL.  The month of August includes outstanding new releases from, among others, Sixpence None The Richer, Chris August, Tenth Avenue North, TobyMac and Andrew Peterson, whose new project, “Light For The Lost Boy,” will release on August 28. “Light For The Lost Boy” is the follow-up to his 2010 project, “Counting Stars,” which included the song, “Dancing In The Minefields.” Andrew Peterson is a singer/songwriter, musician, author, and founding member of the Square Peg Alliance, a group of Christian songwriters. Over the years, Andrew’s hits (and near hits) have included “Nothing To Say” and the WJTL Kid’s Cookie Break favorite, “Tractor, Tractor.”  Andrew has been releasing records since 1996, and releasing books since 2007. He published “The Ballad of Matthew’s Begats” with illustrator Cory Godbrey; it is a children’s book based on the song of the same name from his annual Christmas show, “Behold the Lamb of God: The True Tale Of The Coming Of Christ.” By the way, if you go to http://www.andrew-peterson.com/, you can make a video for the song you’re about to hear, “Rest Easy.” You can watch a video from Andrew Peterson explaining the contest, and if you win, your video will be the official, nationally promoted video for the song. The deadline for video submissions is this Monday, August 13.
