New Tunes at 9 Roundup: Casting Crowns

Radio Friend Phil - New Tunes at 9: one-hour of new and emerging music,  weeknights, 9-10pm on WJTL.   Some of the biggest releases featured this week on New Tunes at 9: “I Have A Dream,” by the City Harmonic and “Come to the Well,” by Casting Crowns.  Casting Crowns began as a student worship-band in Daytona Beach,Florida. Led by front man Mark Hall, Casting Crowns was the first band signed to Beach St. Records; eventually releasing their 2003 self-titled project, which included their breakthrough song, “Voice of Truth.” In 2009, Casting Crowns released their fourth studio project, “Until the Whole World Hears,” a disc that debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200–and selling over 167,000 copies in its first week, setting a new record for the highest Christian album debut in history. “Come to the Well” is the sixth studio album by Casting Crowns; it includes “Courageous,” a song whose music video promotes the film of the same name.
