New Tunes at 9 Roundup: Ghost Ship

July 11th, 2013

RADIO FRIEND PHIL – Greetings! It’s time for this week’s New Tunes at 9 Roundup. (New Tunes at 9, one-hour of new and emerging music, weeknights at 9 p.m. on WJTL.) The sound of praise and worship music is ever evolving and there are currently several bands on the cutting edge worth noting: Fellowship Creative, Bellarive, Citizens, The Sing Team, Tim Timmons and now, Ghost Ship. Ghost Ship is another band signed to Mars Hill Music, the ministry-focused record label from Seattle, Washington. The new project from Ghost Ship is called, “The Good King.” The band posted on the facebook page, “Recently, we heard a story of a guy who got saved listening to the record. Praise God!” The first single off the project is a song called, “The Truth.” The lyrical content is direct and serves as a proclamation of faith: “He is a mighty king. And his will is done. We see his hand at work. See his kingdom come. He is a loving king caring for his own.” Ghost Ship lead singer Cam Huxford was a recent guest on New tunes at 9 and talked about the song, “The Truth.” For more on Ghost Ship, go to the bands facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/ghostshipmusic
