Radio Friend Phil – Greetings! It’s time for this week’s New Tunes at 9 Roundup: New Tunes at 9, one-hour of new and emerging music, weeknights at 9 p.m. on WJTL.  New projects available now: “The Loudest Sound Ever Heard,” from The Choir, “III,” by Family Force Five,” and new this week, “The Hurt and The Healer,” by MercyMe. “The Hurt And The Healer” is the follow up release to MercyMe’s 2010 project, “The Generous Mr. Lovewell,” a record that debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard Top 200. It was also in 2010 that MercyMe’s signature song, “I Can Only Imagine” surpassed 1 million digital downloads, making it the first song in Christian music to go platinum in the digital domain. (You can find “I Can Only Imagine” off MercyMe’s 2001 INO Records’ release, “Almost There.”) Led by vocalist Bart Millard, MercyMe is now regarded as one of the most successful worship-rock band’s in Christian-music history.  For more on MercyMe, go to http://mercyme.org/#!/ss:facebook You’ll find the band’s facebook and twitter links, youtube page and MercyMe store where you can order music and dvd’s.

Wednesday or Thursday morning at approx. 7:25am, a song was played that I really liked and I think it may have been new. Did not get to the last 500 song list in time. Any idea of what it may have been?
