New Tunes at 9 Roundup: Tenth Avenue North
Radio Friend Phil – Greetings! It’s time for this week’s New Tunes at 9 Roundup: New Tunes at 9, one-hour of new and emerging music, weeknights at 9 p.m. on WJTL. The month of August includes outstanding new releases from, among others, Luminate, Sixpence None The Richer, Owl City, Israel And New Breed, Andrew Peterson and TobyMac. Available this week: “The Upside Of Down,” from Chris August and “The Struggle,” from Tenth Avenue North. Back in 2008, Tenth Avenue North released their first major label project, “Over and Underneath,” a disc that quickly established the band as a major force in Contemporary Christian Music. They were named the 2009 New Artist Of The Year, released their next album, “The Light Meets The Dark in 2010, and now, this week, present their strongest album to date, “The Struggle.” Tenth Avenue North took their name from a major east-west road in Palm Beach County, Florida. The group was assembled by singer/guitarist Mike Donehey while attending Palm Beach Atlantic University. For more on Tenth Avenue North, go http://tenthavenuenorth.com/home
