May 9th, 2013

RADIO FRIEND PHIL – Greetings! It’s time for this week’s New Tunes at 9 Roundup. (New Tunes at 9, one-hour of new and emerging music, weeknights at 9 p.m. on WJTL.)This week, I want to bring to your attention a new, exciting voice to Christian music: Tim Timmons. Worship singer Tim Timmons is set to release his full-length project, “Cast My Cares,” on June 4.For over 15 years, Tim Timmons served as worship leader at Mariners Church, in Irvine, CA; he’s also been performing at conferences and churches across the country. Timmons says, “I want to invite people into a conversation about Jesus. I think I’ve been commissioned to be a missionary to Christians. We do American Christianity so well, as we do church week after week. But do we know how to be the church, and enact the principles of Jesus daily?”Additionally, Tim Timmons was diagnosed with incurable cancer over a decade ago, and says, “In all of the craziness of cancer, there is a gift, and perspective is the gift that keeps on giving.”For more on Tim Timmons, go to http://timmonsmusic.com/. You can listen to tracks off the “Cast Your Cares” EP, available at iTunes and amazon.com. You’ll also find Tim’s facebook page, twitter feed, blog and much more.
