Win The New Book “Love Does”

June 3rd, 2013 2 comments

This week, when you comment on our blogs, you’ll automatically be entered to win the new book “Love Does” by Bob Goff.  Brandon Heath wrote a song about it, too, which we’re playing lately on WJTL.

Here’s more about the book from its website:

“Love Does shares powerful stories coupled with eye-opening truths and empowers anyone who longs for a better world and a richer faith.

You don’t need another Christian message or a self-help book. You need to have your paradigms about the world shifted into truth. That’s exactly what you get in Love Does. Have you ever noticed that the real change in your life-the growth that sticks and becomes a part of you-never happens with a program or the sheer grit of your best efforts? It happens over time, like a glacier slowly carving valleys through the mountains.

In this book of compelling stories coupled with eye-opening truths, author Bob Goff shows you a new way to live, a way that’s drenched with the whimsy of God’s love and the spontaneity of following where he leads when he says “Go!” In this book, you learn what it looks like to be secretly incredible and advance God’s kingdom everywhere you are and wherever you’re going.

For anyone who’s wanted to change the world but thought they needed money, a committee, and permission to get started, Love Does shows what can happen when you decide to do instead of planact instead of strategize, and fiercely, invisibly fight for the possibility God has gifted you to uniquely see.”

friends always make music more fun

August 20th, 2010 1 comment

ASHLEA BRENEMAN – In my opinion, friends always make music more fun. It’s better to play with other people and it’s more fun to sing loud in the car when others are joining in with you. Apparently, Jars of Clay shares my belief. On October 5th, Jars will release Jars of Clay Presents The Shelter. This album dwells on the idea of community – both physical and spiritual. What better way to achieve that then to have all of your friends join in during the songwriting and recording process? Jars of Clay rounded up a ton of their friends to make one of the most anticipated releases of the year. Check out the track listing for the new album… take notice that there is only one song that doesn’t have a guest vocalist!

  • Small Rebellions (featuring Brandon Heath) (4:48)
  • Call My Name (featuring Thad Cockrell, Audrey Assad) (4:08)
  • We Will Follow (featuring Gungor) (4:09)
  • Eyes Wide Open (featuring Mac Powell, Derek Webb, Burlap To Cashmere) (4:28)
  • Shelter (featuring TobyMac, Audrey Assad, Brandon Heath) (4:50)
  • Out Of My Hands (featuring Mike Donehey, Leigh Nash) (4:14)
  • No Greater Love (4:07)
  • Run In The Night (featuring Thad Cockrell) (5:25)
  • Lay It Down (featuring David Crowder, Dawn Richardson) (4:03)
  • Love Will Find Us (featuring Sara Groves, Matt Maher) (5:45)
  • Benediction (featuring Amy Grant) (2:52)
  • That is quite the impressive line-up to an already incredibly talented group of guys. Their hope with the new album is to give new songs to the church. Hopefully your church will be adding some of these songs into their normal repertoire soon! If you’d like to listen to clips of all of the songs, head over to Jesusfreakhideout to hear the great music coming out October 5th!

Jars of Clay will be stopping in the Lancaster area with Brandon Heath on Friday, October 8th.
Find out more details about the show and tickets here
    .

What collaboration are you most excited for by seeing the track listing? Have you heard the song “Out Of My Hands” we’ve been playing? What do you think of the new music? Comment below!
