Here’s more about the band:
The Andy Needham Band is at the forefront of New England’s burgeoning Christian music scene. The group’s national debut, Lifted High, produced by GRAMMY Award-winner Mitch Dane (Jars of Clay, Bebo Norman, Brandon Heath), is a combination of original proven favorites and fresh new offerings. From the buoyant debut single, “Open Arms”— a bright reminder of God’s unfailing love— to the earnest, guitar-driven title track, Needham and bandmates Joel Rousseau, Jonathan Mason, and Andrew Picha deliver a smart and accessible modern worship collection. With a passion to equip and encourage local church worship leaders, the Andy Needham Band created the groundbreaking Simply Worship Conference. Designed to offer practical and affordable biblical training for volunteer worship leaders, musicians, and tech teams, the group will present three conferences in the northeast this year.
KRISTI LEIGH — I hope you had a wonderful and meaningful Thanksgiving celebration! This morning’s Praise & Worship Show will start to sprinkle in some of those Christmas worship songs! Enjoy singing along with me!

KRISTI LEIGH – It’s time for one of my favorite Praise & Worship Show themes of the entire year: The Thanksgiving Edition! Whether your life is great right now…or totally falling apart, God is good. I don’t share these words lightly–I’ve lived them and know they’re true! When things are rough, it can be difficult to sing about God’s goodness or our feelings of gratitude toward Him, but my encouragement is to forget about your trials and challenges. Just think about Jesus. Your sacrifice of praise is a beautiful and powerful thing!

JOHN SHIRK – From Ephesians 5:19.
“Speak to one another with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Over the centuries, God has used music as an instrumental tool for worship and ministry. Songs with Christian lyrics have been known to be a source of comfort in troubled times, a source of spiritual growth for the heart that is searching for God, and a source of wisdom to teach us what it means to follow Jesus.
Music is a language to express our love for God and to praise Him for His goodness and greatness. Music is also a means to speak to each other about God’s saving grace through the testimony of Jesus Christ.
We can share His story through a variety of Christian songs today.
The use of psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs for worship and ministry is a vital sign of a changed life in the Year of Transformation.
Aaron Gillespie is the former drummer for hard rock band Underoath and won the HM magazine Reader’s award for “favorite drummer” in 2008. These days, he has gone solo as a worship leader and also is the lead singer for the band The Almost. He packed the house at the Purple Door festival in 2011. With just one backup musician, he played his guitar AND drummed at the same time. He led, REALLY led, a huge crowd of young people in worship. It was awesome! So much passion and so much heart! He’ll be returning to the listening area this weekend for a concert at LBC, where he’ll sing songs from the worship project, “Anthem Song”. It released last year and features songs written with the likes of Paul Baloche, Delirious and more.
Tune in to WJTL all week (September 17-21) for chances to win tickets to the Aaron Gillespie concert (with special guest Stuart Young) happening THIS SATURDAY at Lancaster Bible College. (Click here for tickets and info).
