Announcements were made on air twice each month, on the first and fifteenth asking for Community Groups interested in being updated on employment availabilities to contact the station.

A list of those community groups that contacted the station was kept.

Job Shadowing and Internships for High School and College credit continued to be offered during the past year.   The following is a list of College and High School students who received credit for their time at WJTL, as well as a list of Shadows that visited the WJTL Studios.

Liz Bierly: Fall 2016.  Hempfield High School.  Interned on air and in Office 5 hrs per week.

Robert Lee: Fall 2016 Millersville University Junior.  Interned on air, in office and at events 120+ hours.

Thomas Carley: Spring 2017 Senior Lebanon Valley College.  Interned on air and in office.

Kristen Schultz: Spring 2017 Senior Lancaster Bible College.  Interned on air and at events. 100 + hours.

In addition to on sight internships and shadowing, WJTL Partnered with Lancaster Bible College during the 2016/2017 academic year.  This class was created and taught by WJTL Staff Member Kristi Leigh.

WJTL partnered with Lancaster Bible College during the Fall 2016 semester to:

-Offer a 3-credit Introduction to Radio Broadcasting course.  14 students took the class in the Fall 2016 semester.  They learned broadcast equipment, radio performance skills, programmed their own weekly show, toured local stations WJTL and WDAC and enjoyed special guest speakers from WJTL, WROZ and WSBA.

-Develop an online streaming college radio station.  3 additional students learned radio basics and hosted a weekly air shift in the Fall 2016 semester.

WJTL partnered with Lancaster Bible College during the Spring 2017 semester to:

-Develop an online streaming college radio station.  8 additional students learned radio basics and hosted a weekly air shift in the Spring 2017 semester.

-Participate in a special event to give LBC students and community members an opportunity to tour the new radio/television studios and have a chance behind the mic/camera on Tuesday, March 28th from 6:30 – 9:00 p.m.  Approximately 40 were in attendance.  WJTL’s Kristi Leigh, LBC professor Adrienne Garvey, and LBC Arts & Sciences Department staff held a panel discussing the challenges and triumphs of being a Christian working in media, and how education prepares students for communication careers and ministry.

Additional outreach programs to local colleges and schools also continued.

Throughout the year WJTL continues to welcome School Groups, Boy and Girl Scout Groups, Youth Groups, Community Groups and Homeschool Groups for tours of the WJTL studios.  These tours include question and answer time with staff.

WJTL also continues to host Youth Group Night .  Youth Groups from around the WJTL Listening area come to the station for 2 and half to 3 hours to be on the air, experience the production room, and hear presentations on continued education and a Career in Broadcasting from a WJTL staff member.
