Grief Share at Hempfield UMC

For many, it can be difficult to feel optimistic about the future after losing a spouse, child, family member, or friend. Those who are grieving often find that no one fully understands the profound hurt and loss they feel. This can be a very confusing time for grieving people – a time when they can feel isolated and have many questions about things they have never had to face before.

Hempfield UMC’s Grief Share program, a Christian-based grief support group, is designed to help those who are grieving face the challenges of losing someone they loved, as it helps them work toward rebuilding their lives, with an emphasis on moving from mourning to joy.

Anita Kissinger will help facilitate this session of Grief Share alongside Joyce Young, HUMC Director of Care & Minister of Visitation. The group meets weekly on Mondays from 6:30 – 8 p.m. beginning Feb 6 through May 8 at Hempfield United Methodist Church, in the Spirit. Café. The church is located at 3050 Marietta Ave., Lancaster.

Each Grief Share session has three distinct elements: a video, discussion, and personal study and reflection.
