Transracial adoption refers to the adoption of a child that is of a different race than that of the adoptive parents. Having a multi-racial, and/or a multi-ethnic family is a joy – a joy that brings questions, challenges, and the need for awareness of the possible challenges. Join us as we discuss these issues of transracial adoption: the needs of our children, the needs of our family, how to confront racism, how to honor our children’s birth heritage while joining it with their new heritage, define “belonging,” and talking to our children about race. Event is free to all past and present Bethany clients. Please call Bethany @ 717.399.3213 to register for this event.
