Local author Lynette Brenneman visits KCB

January 27th, 2020

LISA LANDIS~ Happy Monday Kids Cookie Breakers. Thanks to everyone who took part in the KCB “Request Hour” this past Saturday and CONGRATS to all the winners!

We have another very special guest visiting the KCB studio this weekend. “Cora’s Slate: A Day at Walnut Run School” by local author Lynette Brenneman is now available. It’s a historical fiction kids’ picture book with photos as the illustrations. It’s set more than 100 years ago, and it’s about a local one-room schoolhouse (Walnut Run).

This Saturday morning during the 10 o’clock Theme Party meet the author as well as the kids who portrayed children from history in the new book. AND we will have chances for you to win the book!

The book is now available at the following locations:

Pine View Dairy (south of Lancaster on New Danville Pike)

Lancaster Mennonite Historical Society (east of Lancaster on Millstream Road)

Landis Valley Village & Farm Museum (north of Lancaster on Kissel Hill Road) (The museum is also pictured briefly in the book.)

Ken’s Educational Joys (in Ephrata)

Conestoga Area Historical Society (south of Lancaster in Conestoga)

Check out this article about the book in Town Lively!

I hope you can listen to KCB this Saturday! You can also request your favorite song at 11am!
