New Tunes at 9 Roundup: The Choir

May 17th, 2012

Radio Friend Phil – Greetings! It’s time for this week’s New Tunes at 9 Roundup: New Tunes at 9, one-hour of new and emerging music, weeknights at 9 p.m. on WJTL.  New projects available now: “Dubbed and Freq’d-A Remix Project,” by TobyMac, “Love Come To Life,” from Big Daddy Weave, and available this week: “The Loudest Sound Ever Heard,” from The Choir. “The Loudest Sound Ever Heard” is another sonic masterpiece! The project is full of lyrical poetry, mystery, an impeccable sense of time and space, and the Choir’s heavenly (sometimes haunting) “musical soundscapes.” These “musical soundscapes,” or “sheets of sound” are the creation of singer/guitarist Derri Daugherty, lyricist/percussionist Steve Hindalong, and Dan Michael’s, a gifted musician who plays the lyricon, a musical instrument, which he calls a “wind-controlled midi-saxophone.” For more on the dreamy, compelling sound of the Choir, go to http://www.thechoir.net/ You can preview songs off the new project, “The Loudest Sound Ever Heard,” review special music packages available for purchase, watch videos and sign up for band updates.
