September 27th, 2012

RADIO FRIEND PHIL – Greetings! It’s time for this week’s New Tunes at 9 Roundup: New Tunes at 9, one-hour of new and emerging music, weeknights at 9 p.m. on WJTL.   New projects available (and highly recommended): Toby Mac’s “Eye On It” (which recently debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200), “Into The Light,” by Matthew West and “Welcome To Daylight,” from Luminate. New music available Tuesday, October 9: “Blue Mountain” by Brandon Heath and “Finding Our Way,” from Hyland. Hyland is band that was formed in 2006 in Minneapolis by vocalist/guitarist, Jon Lewis. The band released a couple of independent EP’s before capturing the attention of Aaron Sprinke, formerly of Poor Old Lu. Jon Lewis was a recent guest on New Tunes at 9, where he spoke about his maturation as a songwriter over the course of three full-length projects. For more on Hyland, go to http://hylandofficial.com/welcome/ to find music downloads, facebook page and a video for the song you are about to hear, “Beauty In The Broken.” Hyland is also part of “The Believer” tour with Kutless, Fireflight and The Rhett Walker Band.
