March 26th, 2014

RADIO FRIEND PHIL – Greetings! It’s time for this week’s New Tunes at 9 Roundup. (New Tunes at 9, one-hour of new and emerging music, weeknights at 9 p.m. on WJTL.) Singer/songwriter Jonathan Thulin was a recent guest on New Tunes at 9. The Swedish born artist, who makes his home in Minneapolis, has released the project “The White Room,” on Dream Records. Jonathan Thulin began singing at an early age and began traveling around the world with his parents at age 11. (His parents, who were evangelists, toured with The Gaithers and Carman, among others.) Thulin, whose also recorded and written songs with the band, Press Play, continues to mature as a songwriter. “This album was different for me,” he says, “I didn’t strategically write songs as I usually would,” The first single off “The White Room” is a song called, “Architecture.” Jonathan writes, “You build me up like a city of gold. The battles rage but I’m standing tall. You formed my heart like an empire. The wind and rain can’t stop this fire.” (Jonathan spoke about the song on New Tunes at 9. https://wjtl.com/listen/wjtl-casts/) For more on Jonathan Thulin, go to http://www.dreamrecords.org/, or visit https://www.facebook.com/jonathanthulin. Oh my goodness, after hearing Jonathan’s song, “Architecture”, I have fallen in love with it! My sister & I pretty much sing it everyday! It’s like one of those songs that when it comes on, my heart melts before God & it never fails to bring tears to my eyes…:) I love the acoustic version as well. I have made it my own personal love song to God, & I thank Mr. Thulin for putting his heart into this song. God has blessed him with an amazing voice!
