For the free 30 minute Good Friday concert\, Mr. Hershey has selected “Piece Heroique” by Cesar Frank\, a jazz work on “When I Survey the Wondrous Cross” by Joe Utterback\, the Bach/Virgil Fox arrangement of “Come\, Sweet Death”\, and “Father\, Into Thy Hands I Commend My Spirit” by Paul Sifler. \nThe First Friday “Organic Reflections” concert series is a gift to the community from First Reformed Church\, a center city congregation of the United Church of Christ. Only 30 minutes in length\, the free concerts begin at 8 PM each First Friday for the convenience of those who wish to spend the early evening visiting downtown galleries before the concert. DESCRIPTION:The Partnership for Better Health is hosting a Match Madness campaign that includes 64 contenders for matching funds for non-profit organizations in Cumberland County. Wheels for Women is an underdog in this competition and we need your help. Wheels for Women is a Christian non-profit that provides pre-owned vehicles to women in need. Women apply through one of our 6 social service agencies in south central PA (a 6-county area) and Wheels for Women provides the vehicle for free. We have awarded 42 vehicles in the past 3 years and have a goal of 30 in 2026. 19% of Americans experience transportation insecurity as compared to 9% housing insecurity and 16% food insecurity. Help us meet our goals so we can empower a woman to meet her family’s needs. A reliable vehicle often is the critical difference between just surviving and actually thriving. DESCRIPTION:Celebrate Recovery is a program that helps us find hope and healing as we work through the 12 steps and 8 principles of Celebrate Recovery. Much information can be obtained by checking out www.celebraterecovery.com.\nCelebrate Recovery is a Jesus Christ centered recovery program for anyone 18 years of age or older to find healing from any of life’s hurts\, habits\, or hangups. One doesn’t have to be a believer in Jesus Christ in order to participate\, but as for the leaders in CR\, we believe that Jesus is our one and only true Higher Power. Whether it’s from decisions we’ve made or things others have done to us\, we can find our hope in Jesus Christ.\nAt Manheim Brethren in Christ Church\, we have a time of coffee and fellowship prior to the start of the meeting on Tuesday evenings. That goes from about 6:30 – 7:00 p.m. Our Large Group meeting\, which is a time of worship and either a lesson or a testimony of recovery\, is a mix of men and women and runs from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. After this we have small\, gender specific and issue specific breakout groups which we call our Open Share time. This goes from approximately 8:10 – 9:00 p.m. Depending on the size of the Open Share group\, this may end well before 9:00 p.m.\nCelebrate Recovery @ MBIC also offers Celebration Place. Celebration Place is for children of parents or guardians that are on site and currently attending CR. More info on Celebration Place here: www.celebraterecovery.ca/celebration-place/\nI would encourage you\, and anyone else you would like to bring along\, to come visit any Tuesday evening. Each week there is a Newcomers 101 class that is offered for anyone new to CR. It happens after Large Group (during the Open Share groups) and is a time of hearing\, in more detail\, what Celebrate Recovery is and a time to ask any questions one might have. We encourage everyone to attend this Newcomers class before joining an Open Share group\, so one will know what to expect.
