Mount Joy Mennonite Church invites the community to participate in the construction of Creation Park, a new community playground designed to bring families together, encourage outdoor play, and celebrate the beauty of God’s creation.

From July 6–11, 2026, we will need hundreds of volunteers to build the playground in six days. The project is being completed in partnership with Play By Design, a professional playground builder (responsible for Lititz Treehouse and Amos Herr Park).

The playground’s design incorporates creation-inspired themes including land, sea, fish, animals, sun, and stars.

The playground be open to the community and will feature:
• Two custom play structures designed for ages 2–5 and 5–12
• Slides and climbing features
• Swings, a spinner, and spring rockers
• A double zipline
• Accessible pathways and inclusive play opportunities
• A fully fenced play area
• Durable poured-in-place rubber surfacing

This playground is being built by the community, for the community, and we invite everyone to be part of the experience.

Volunteer opportunities are available throughout build week. No construction experience is required. Meals and childcare are provided. Daily volunteer shifts available:
• 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
• 12:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
• 5:00 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
