Lancaster Capital Day

September 26 @ 10:00 am - 5:00 pm

On Saturday, September 26, Lancaster Capital Day will bring history to life in Downtown Lancaster with a free, family-friendly celebration of the people, places, and stories that have shaped Lancaster County from 1681 to today.

The festival celebrates Lancaster’s unique place in American history. On September 27, 1777, Lancaster served as the nation’s capital for one day after the Continental Congress fled Philadelphia during the Revolutionary War.

Today, Lancaster Capital Day celebrates the community’s history and heritage through live music, local food, artisan vendors, historical demonstrations, cultural exhibits, and hands-on activities for all ages.
