The Borough of Mount Joy will celebrate its 175th anniversary with a community-wide celebration on Saturday, September 12, from 4 to 8 p.m.

The celebration will take place with a rain date of Sunday, September 13, from 4 to 8 p.m., and will feature an evening of music, food, family activities, local history and community organizations. The event will also include a special opportunity to reflect on the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, honoring those who lost their lives and recognizing the lasting importance of community, service and remembrance.

The festivities will officially begin at 4 p.m. with brief remarks from representatives of Senator Malone’s office, Representative Jones, the Lancaster County Commissioners and Mount Joy’s Mayor. The opening program will conclude with a ribbon-cutting ceremony organized in partnership with the Mount Joy Chamber of Commerce.

Throughout the event, attendees can enjoy a variety of activities and entertainment, including:

· Live music from The Nines Band and Phredd

· Food trucks

· A bounce house

· Razzle Dazzle Balloons

· Fire and police vehicles

· Historic displays from the Fire Department of Mount Joy and Mount Joy Historical Society

· Information and activities from local civic organizations and nonprofit groups

· A special drone show at 8 p.m.

Residents and visitors are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets and settle in for an evening of music, community activities and the drone show.

Parking & Accessibility

General street parking will be available throughout the event area. Overflow parking will be available at Glossbrenner Church. Fire police will be on-site to assist with traffic and direct visitors with accessibility needs to appropriate parking areas.
