Songs of Faith and Freedom; A Patriotic Concert

June 23 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

As our nation gets ready to celebrate its 250th Anniversary, the Music on High concert series will honor the occasion with a special evening of American music. On Tuesday, June 23, at 6 PM, musicians from Christ Lutheran Church will present Songs of Faith & Freedom, featuring the many musical styles that have shaped our country’s culture. The program will include African American spirituals, well-known hymns sung in churches for generations, and lively choral pieces by American composers. Together, these works show the sounds that have helped shape American music. Sacred music and hymns will be an important part of the program, reminding us how closely faith and music have been connected in our nation’s history.
After the concert, everyone is welcome to join us for an ice cream social on the lawn, a chance to relax and enjoy fellowship on a summer evening. We hope you’ll join us for this joyful night of music and community as we celebrate America’s 250th anniversary with the songs and traditions that have shaped our nation.
