As part of its fall group study offerings, Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 397 Tyler Run Road, York, is hosting Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University, a biblically based curriculum that teaches people how to handle money God’s way. The program will start on Wednesday, Sept. 10 and run each Wednesday for 10 weeks. Pennsylvania German Dialect, commonly known as “Pennsylvania Dutch,” is prevalent among Old Order Amish and Mennonite communities in Pennsylvania. Historically, however, it was spoken widely by Lutheran, Reformed and other groups of German immigrants and it is currently used in Old Order communities as far west as Wisconsin.
