I have an idea for a contest, and maybe you have already done this, but I was thinking that during the month of December, you could invite your listeners to write a short essay about how WJTL touched their lives. It might help with donations. You could have a different winner each day, and invite them to read it on the radio. For example, mine would read as follows: About 10 years ago, a friend kept insisting that I listen to WJTL. At first, I resisted, but gradually started listening to it in my car and then in the morning as I was getting ready for work. I had been a regular church attendee, but found it stagnant and boring. WJTL opened up my eyes to a new world of music and the knowledge that there is a huge community of believers out there. Since then, I changed churches, went on two mission trips, and coordinate a volunteer musical outreach to nursing homes. Best of all, my grandson is now attending a Christian school and my husband has become involved in Men’s prayer groups. I can see the positive impact that a Christian radio station can have on an entire family, and I would encourage others to support the radio ministry of WJTL so that it can continue to do the same for other individuals and families in our area.
What a sweet idea, Becky! I feel like a winner just reading your story! 🙂
