On Sunday, December 29, 3:00 pm, the Lancaster Chapter of the American Guild of Organists (AGO) will present their annual Christmas at the Organ: Carol Sing and Recital. It will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 409 Cherry Street in Columbia, PA. Played by local organists, they will each accompany the congregation on an Advent or Christmas tune followed by playing an organ arrangement on that same tune. There is no admission fee, but a free-will offering will be taken.
The Carol Sing and Recital will be played on Holy Trinity’s three-manual 26 rank Midler-Hunter (1951) pipe organ. A new console was done by Columbia Organ Works in 1997, and a complete restoration and expansion by Peragallo in 2017. The church is massive and will sound fabulous with strong organ playing and a large singing congregation.
