Maurice Durufle’s “Requiem”

On Sunday, November 16 at 7:00 PM, a performance of Maurice Duruflé’s masterpiece “Requiem” will be offered at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church. The church’s choir will be joined by the Diocese of Harrisburg Schola Cantorum. Dr. Richard Skirpan will direct the ensemble and chamber orchestra, along with Kyle Postlethwait on organ and Leah Kaye Serr as mezzo-soprano soloist.

Duruflé’s “Requiem” was composed in 1947. Duruflé, a Parisian organist and composer, himself conducted a performance at First Presbyterian Church in Lancaster in 1966. You don’t want to miss this monumental piece!

The concert is free admission and open to the public, with a free-will offering taken. St. Leo’s is located at 2427 Marietta Avenue, Lancaster, PA. Parking is available in the church’s lot.
