Red Sand Project

July 30 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

On Wednesday, July 30, 2025, the Lancaster community is invited to stand united in the fight against human trafficking at the Red Sand Project: A Community Stand Against Human Trafficking, held in Heritage Quadrant, Penn Square, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM.

Coinciding with World Day Against Trafficking in Persons, this public event will bring together community members, advocates, and partner organizations to honor survivors and raise awareness for those still trapped in exploitation. Participants will symbolically fill sidewalk cracks with red sand, a visual reminder that no person should be overlooked or forgotten.

The Lancaster County Human Trafficking Task Force, in partnership with ZOE International, North Star Initiative, YWCA Lancaster, and the Lancaster County District Attorney’s Office, will host this impactful event. The event highlights a united, county-wide effort to stand for freedom, justice, and restoration.

Established in 2021, the Lancaster County District Attorney’s Human Trafficking Task Force brings together government, nonprofit, and private partners in a coordinated response to trafficking through victim-centered investigation, prosecution, prevention, and restorative care. ZOE International serves as the coordinating agency for the Task Force, alongside key partners like North Star Initiative and YWCA Lancaster.

This event is free and open to the public. All are encouraged to attend and take part in this symbolic act of solidarity and advocacy.
