Come to receive and share the light of Christ in Elizabethtown at the 11th annual “Welcome 2025” New Year’s Eve community-wide celebration that culminates with the raising of a large lighted star and a spectacular fireworks show! Sponsored by Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, this free event takes place on Tuesday, December 31 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the church parking lot and in surrounding buildings. The evening of family fun and kid’s activities includes a Christmas festival of carol singing and organ music, children’s crafts, bingo, a magician, balloon twisting, and visiting with Susquehana Service Dogs. Also offered are free hotdogs, soup, S’mores, popcorn and hot chocolate. In addition, a chicken barbeque meal (half a chicken, baked potato, roll/butter, applesauce and water will be available for $12. (This helps defray the cost of the fireworks). The lighted star raising and the fireworks show will begin at 7 p.m.
