Come to receive and share the light of Christ in Elizabethtown at the 12th annual New Year’s Eve community-wide celebration on Wednesday, December 31, from 4 to 7 p.m. ”Welcome 2026″, sponsored by Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, offers a free evening of family fun and kids activities that culminates with the raising of a large star and a spectacular fireworks show! The event includes a performance by local musician Corty Byron, children’s crafts, bingo, balloon twisting, and visiting with Susquehanna Service Dogs. Also offered are free hot dogs, soup, S’mores, popcorn, and hot chocolate.

A chicken barbecue meal will be available for $15 to help offset the cost of the fireworks. The meal consists of half a chicken, baked potato, applesauce, roll with butter and water. Tickets for the meal are are available in the church office Mon. through Thurs. from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Some tickets will be available on New Year’s Eve.

The event will take place in various locations that include the church parking lot and surrounding buildings. Food service will end at 6:30 p.m. The raising of the star and the fireworks show will begin at 7 p.m.
