Christian School of York drama students are thrilled to announce the upcoming production of The Wizard of Oz.

Forty-four student actors and fourteen crew members ranging from grades 3 to 12 will present the classic musical at Christian School of York at 907 Greenbriar Road, York, PA 17404 for three showings, including May 19th at 7pm and May 20th, 2023 at 1pm and 7pm.

Introducing Encore! Home School Productions’ 2023 spring musical, Shrek!

Winner of 6 Hershey Theatre Apollo Awards in 2022, Encore! is the premier homeschool theatre troupe in Central PA. Shrek hits the stage of The Junction Center on March 31 (7 pm), April 1 (7 pm), and April 2 (2 pm).

“Once upon a time, there was a little ogre named Shrek….” And thus begins the tale of an unlikely hero who finds himself on a life-changing journey alongside a wisecracking Donkey and a feisty princess who resists her rescue. Based on the Oscar-winning DreamWorks Animation film, Shrek The Musical is a Tony Award-winning fairy tale adventure that brings all the beloved characters you know from the film to life on stage and proves there’s more to the story than meets the ears. Irreverently fun for the whole family, Shrek proves that beauty is truly in the eye of the ogre.

It is 1929, just before the crash of the stock market. In a little mill town, the “haves,” the “have-nots,” the “righteous,” and the “sinners” wrestle with the feelings of pride and prejudice. Come on out and enjoy the toe-tapping tunes of the roaring 20’s!

RESERVATIONS:

Reservations are strongly encouraged, though seating is general admission on a first-come, first-served basis. Reservations expire 20 minutes prior to show time unless paid in advance.

Doors will open one hour prior to show time. Seats that are saved for others (no matter how many) must be paid for at the door. Patrons without reservations on sold out nights may choose to wait and see if seats become available.

SUGGESTED DONATION:

A suggested minimum donation of $9 for adults and $2 for children 12 years and under is payable at the door, or children may donate a canned good for local food banks.
