New Tunes at 9 Roundup: Brian Campbell

phil : August 22, 2013 6:31 pm : music, Radio Friend Phil, Staff Pages

RADIO FRIEND PHIL – Greetings! It’s time for this week’s New Tunes at 9 Roundup. (New Tunes at 9, one-hour of new and emerging music, weeknights at 9 p.m. on WJTL.) Singer, songwriter and worship leader Brian Campbell stopped by the Junction Center on Tuesday. Campbell, who is touring in support of his latest project, “Hearts Wake to the Giver of Life,” continues to make fans worldwide. (Many people saw Brian Campbell for the first time when he led early morning worship at Creation Northeast.) Brian has partnered with Guitars for Glory, an organization committed to providing guitars and instruments for musicians across the globe. Their goal is to raise enough funds to send over 100 quality guitars and cases to those in need every year. Brian was a guest on New Tunes this week and spoke about “radical generosity,” a phrase he uses when mentioning that the music should, “be attainable to those who are hungry for the Gospel.” (Brian also spoke about his vision for the “Stronger, Deeper, Higher” tour.) For more on Brian Campbell, go to http://www.briancampbellmusic.com/. You’ll find links to iTunes, facebook, you-tube, twitter, and more.

From Bumpers to Books

Intern Sarah : August 21, 2013 11:34 am : Intern Sarah

Now that the Bumper Sticker Bonanza is winding down for the summer, we interns would like to reflect on our time here at WJTL and the fun we have had.  Of all the things that we do as interns, sticker spotting is definitely a favorite!  Surprising someone with a prize just for supporting their favorite local Christian radio station is a great feeling.  Even more than that, getting to meet the winners as we place the envelope on the windshield or after they have won is so rewarding!

Do not worry though!  Even though the Bonanza is coming to a close, if you find an envelope on your windshield or would like to send a picture in to win, you still can!

The listeners here in the Susquehanna Valley are a strong community for the WJTL ministry and the Bumper Sticker Bonanza has shown that!  With your support through word of mouth, bumper stickers and other displays of WJTL pride as well as your faithful donations, it is you, the listeners, that make us what we are.  Without you, none of this would be possible!

As we interns go back to school we will remember our time here with great fondness.  We have learned a lot, not only from those that work here, but also from those we met spotting stickers and doing live remotes.  As for me, I have been truly blessed to personally witness all of the excitement for WJTL and the Bumper Sticker Bonanza.

It has been a busy summer full of hard work and sending out prizes.  But my prize was getting to meet all kinds of people, getting great experience, and being here to answer the emails as you send it in to win!

Ways to Reach Out to Lisa During Her Illness

phredd : August 20, 2013 4:09 am : Fred McNaughton, Staff Pages

As many of you know, Lisa Landis was hospitalized on June 26th with a serious bacterial infection.  Many of you have expressed interest in leaving a message for Lisa. This page would be a great way to do that. Simply leave your reply to this message and we will pass your well-wishes along to Lisa and her family.

Some listeners and organizations have also asked about organizing a Get Well card shower for Lisa.  If your church or organization or family is interested in doing that you can send your cards to WJTL, 1875 Junction Road, Manheim, PA 17545 Attn: Lisa Landis, and we will pass them along to Lisa and her family as well.

Additionally, many have been asking about ways to help Lisa during her lengthy illness and Hospital Stay. If you would like to help with Lisa’s Medical & Rehabilitation Expenses, a special fund has been set up.  Please send your gift to…

FULTON BANK: MCGOVERN AVENUE
20 MCGOVERN AVE.
LANCASTER, PA 17602

Please Indicate on your check that this is for the
