Expressing Thanks to God for our Loved Ones

November 18th, 2010

JOHN SHIRK – If we note carefully the letters of the Apostle Paul, we will see that it was Paul’s tendency to express thanks to God for his readers.

In Philippians 1:3, he said, “I thank my God every time I remember you.”  And in Romans 1:8, he said, “I thank my God through Jesus Christ for all of you, because your faith is being reported all over the world.” In Second Thessalonians 1:3, he said, “We ought always to thank God for you, brothers, and rightly so, because your faith is growing more and more, and the love every one of you has for each other is increasing.”

This is a good practice for Christians today. Express thanks to God for those people in relationship with us, and express why we are thankful for them. This is an effective way to communicate that we value others.  These expressions of thanks also build hope and encouragement in the body of Christ.

That’s today’s Mission Statement for representing Jesus in the world today.
