Focus on God’s Goodness-Angelic Announcement

JOHN SHIRK – Today’s Focus on God’s Goodness is found in Luke 2:10 and 11.

The angel said to the shepherds, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.”

The shepherds were moved by this angelic proclamation to go and see this baby who was lying in a manger. Then they were moved to tell others what they saw. After that, they were moved to praise and glorify God.

The angelic announcement to the shepherds invites us to behold Jesus as Savior, to publicly celebrate His arrival, and personally praise God for His precious gift.

The announcement of Christ’s birth reveals the Goodness of God and is a reason to give thanks in the Year of Gratitude.
