Focus on God’s Goodness-Purposes of God

JOHN SHIRK – Today’s Focus on God’s Goodness is found in Luke 1, verses 46 to 49.

As Mary was pregnant with Jesus, she reflected on the blessing of her journey with praise for God.

She said, “My soul glorifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for he has been mindful of the humble state of his servant. From now on all generations will call me blessed, for the Mighty One has done great things for me-holy is his name.”

No one will deliver Jesus into the world in the way that Mary did, but we do have a place in God’s great plan. As we see His plan coming together and His power at work in us, those are occasions to praise the Lord and press forward with the assignments He gives us.

The purposes of God for our lives reveal the Goodness of God and are reasons to give thanks in the Year of Gratitude.
