God Quote-Forgiveness

JOHN SHIRK – In the Year of God’s Word, this is what the Lord says in Luke 17, verses 3 and 4.

Jesus said, “If your brother or sister sins against you, rebuke them; and if they repent, forgive them. Even if they sin against you seven times in a day and seven times come back to you saying, ‘I repent,’ you must forgive them.”

Responding to someone who has wronged us is a delicate matter. Jesus does not suggest that we sweep offenses under the rug. He is calling us to be proactive in confronting sin so that repentance might take place and reconciliation might follow.

Forgiveness is not always easy, but it is possible when God’s grace is in view.
