Praise Focus-Goodness and Love

JOHN SHIRK – Today’s Praise Focus comes from Psalm 23, verse 6.

With the Lord as my Shepherd, “Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.”

The goodness and love of the LORD is what allows us to be near to Him. These qualities were demonstrated at the cross, where Jesus surely suffered and died for our sins in the ultimate sacrifice. That is how our faith can be certain in a good God who is able to provide for our deepest need for forgiveness. He pursues us with His love.

Experiencing the goodness and love of God can be a present-day reality when we follow the heart of the good Shepherd, because we are near to Him. Isaiah 40, verse 11 says, “He tends his flock like a shepherd; He gathers the lambs in his arms, and carries them close to his heart.”

The goodness and love of the Good Shepherd are reasons to praise God in the Year of Focus.
