Praise Focus-Relationship with Jesus
JOHN SHIRK – Today’s Praise Focus comes from Colossians 2:6 and 7.
“So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.”
Jesus invites us to follow Him as Lord and Savior. It is one thing to say “Yes” to this invitation, but quite another to actually take the first step to walk in His direction. Jesus is worthy of more than just lip service. He is worthy of our wholehearted love and devotion.
The experience of walking with Jesus as our Lord and Friend will not always be easy. He promised trouble in this world. This is something we should expect. But He also promised His peace and presence, which is greater than our current difficulties. He will never leave us for forsake us. He is faithful forever, and knows how to lead us to a place of joy and gratitude.
Our relationship with Jesus is a reason to praise God in the Year of Focus.
