Prayer Focus-God’s Help

JOHN SHIRK – In the Year of Focus, we take a look at a prayer for God’s help in times of trouble.

Psalm 22:11 says, “Do not be far from me, for trouble is near and there is no one to help.”

When we feel alone or abandoned by our friends, God is near enough to hear our every prayer. He is responsive to the cares and concerns of our heart. His wisdom is available for those perplexing decisions that we need to make. His peace is a comforting presence when we feel the stress of the world weighing on us. Philippians 4:5 reminds us that the Lord is near.

Abraham Lincoln was our nation’s President in a time of crisis during the Civil War. He said this: “I have been driven many times to my knees by the overwhelming conviction that I had nowhere else to go.”

Prayer for God’s help in times of trouble is worth examining for a faith-focused life.
