Prayer Focus-God’s Presence

JOHN SHIRK – In the Year of Focus, we take a look at the Prayer of Moses requesting God’s Presence.

It’s found in Exodus 33:15. God and Moses were having a heart-to-heart conversation. That is the kind of conversation that builds relationships.

God said to Moses, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”

Moses said to Him, “If your Presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here. How will anyone know that you are pleased with me and with your people unless you go with us?”

Sometimes, in our ambition to make things happen, we can move ahead without inviting God into our plans. It is better to go slower with God than to rush ahead of Him. Proverbs 16:3 puts it this way. “Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.” The presence of God is the power source for productive plans.

The Prayer of Moses requesting God’s Presence is worth examining for a faith-focused life.
