Today’s Word from God’s Word-Resolve
JOHN SHIRK – Today’s Word from God’s Word is Resolve.
A Biblical view of this word is a true intention and commitment to do something. Much good can be accomplished when faith is the motivation behind our resolutions.
When King Jehoshaphat was informed of a vast army coming against him, he was alarmed, and resolved to inquire of the LORD.
In First Corinthians 2:2, the Apostle Paul said, “For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.” He knew there was power in the message of the cross, and would not be distracted from that focus point in his ministry.
These examples from the Old Testament and New Testament are good reminders for us to be intentional about seeking the Lord and staying focused on the Gospel.
