Love WJTL. Love the idea of this contest. Then I went to vote. It appears that I’m not really voting for my favorite Christmas songs as much as I’m voting for my favorite performers. In order to vote for my fav songs, I have to start with the artist. Makes me sad.

I’m old school, LOL. There was quite a few Christmas songs that are my favorites,
    that I couldn’t vote on.
Margaret Becker – O Come O Come Emanuel
Various Artist (compilation) – Home for The Holidays
BJ Thomas – Oh This Christmas Night (LP Title cur)
Truth ( blow off the cobwebs) – Do You Hear What I Hear, ( from Now THIS is Christmas LP)
    Thanks! Great idea great contest!

Dear Wjtl, the Christmas song countdown is a great idea in theory, but the execution is odd.
Why limit the artist and song choices to just the one you have listed. Tons of Christian and Christmas songs, but only a few choices. That means I can’t vote for my favorite Christmas song. Emmanuel(Go tell the world) by Jack Cassidy. Love the song, but we could use open voting.

    Hey Craig,

Thanks for your comment and thanks for voting. I’m sorry that the Jack Cassidy song wasn’t available for voting. In order to get what we thought would be a true Top 100 list we needed to limit the songs. Otherwise our concern was that too many songs would just get one vote and the bottom half of the Top 100 would just be a lot of songs with minimal votes.

Despite it’s shortfalls we hope you enjoy The Top 100!

Phredd, glad WJTL finally did a Christmas song countdown. However, I would agree with some of the others about the limited choices of songs and/or artists, plus it should start with the song & not artist. I do understand your reasoning for this, but still there are a number of obvious choices that were missed, plus some fairly obscure ones as well that others may like besides me. (Though you DO have the best versions of a few classics, like Jingle Bell Rock.) Anyway, I’ll await the final Top 100 (may have to see the list online if I miss any while at work that day), God bless you all, CONGRATS on your station’s Dove Award for CCM Radio Impact (I’m SO impressed but NOT surprised that NO ONE mentioned this at ALL), & Merry CHRISTmas (with the emphasis on CHRIST)! Sincerely, Andrew J. Persac

Agree with the comments above, I understand about limiting to the artists you play on WJTL — wish we could have “write in” votes. I would have added these: “PEACE” and “Angus Dei” -live by MWS and “It’s About the Cross” Go Fish to name a few. Have a blessed CHRISTmas season! Thanks for all the encouraging words and music each day!!

We tried to vote at 8:16 on SUnday evening and were unable to. It indicated it was closed. 🙁
So…we thought we would try this way.
    1. Jingle Bells
    2. Silent Night
    3. Oh Christmas Tree
    4. Away in a Manger
    5. Mary Did you know?

Thanks! We love WJTL. We listen every morning and afternoon traveling to and from LAMS, our schoo.l
