Word from God’s Word-Power
JOHN SHIRK – Today’s Word from God’s Word is Power.
The Tyndale Bible Dictionary defines power as “the ability to do things, by virtue of strength, skill, resources or authorization.”
In the Christian life, the Holy Spirit is our power source. The ability to serve others and our effectiveness as witnesses for Jesus depend on the Holy Spirit to empower us. This highlights the importance of staying in relationship with Jesus and walking by faith in Him. Jesus said in John 15:5, “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.”
Jesus is our source of strength and confidence. In His grace, we can find the courage to live out the Christian life with freedom. Second Timothy 1:7 says, “For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.”
